Encapsulating Materials in Glass
Lamination makes it possible to encapsulate various materials between the panes, including natural fibers, textile fibers, and even stainless steel brackets.
The structural glass panels can be used for staircase guards or guardrails, creating distinctive design accents. One advantage of laminating the mounting brackets into the glass is the smooth exterior glass surface, which is very easy to clean. It also produces a more cohesive aesthetic, as no stainless-steel or steel components project beyond the glass surface. By incorporating threaded fittings, exceptionally artistic staircases such as our FLY model can be created, using straight glass panels to achieve a curved staircase form. This helps reduce costs, since curved glass in this application is considerably more expensive.
