This is a particularly beautiful staircase that we built for a private home in California, the Sunshine State of the USA. 

This spiral staircase, clad in wood veneer and connecting three storeys, has a sculptural appearance. The underside of the staircase is fitted with a sprinkler system, ensuring that the wooden staircase can still be used even in the event of a fire. 

Structural timber staircases have many advantages over steel constructions. The material is much lighter, and it is easier to build a staircase entirely from timber than to have a steel core that needs to be clad on all sides.
